Yashpal Arya, Pratap meet Venugopal in Delhi

The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Uttarakhand assembly Yashpal Arya met the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), KC Venugopal in New Delhi on Thursday. The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Dhirendra Pratap accompanied Arya.
Informing about the meeting, Dhirendra Pratap said that Venugopal expressed happiness over the performance of Arya as the opposition leader in Uttarakhand and expressed hope under the leadership of PCC president Karan Mehra and Yashpal Arya the Congress will be strengthened in the state and emerge as a viable alternative against the BJP.
The leaders of the Uttarakhand Congress were in the national capital to attend the ceremony in which the new president Mallikarjun Kharge took charge of the office. Both Ayra and Pratap expressed happiness over the inclusion of former chief minister Harish Rawat and in charge of Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav in the newly constituted 47 member steering committee of the Congress party constituted by the new President Kharge and expressed confidence that their experience would help in strengthening the party.
