YC ‘rowdyism’ at Police Line flayed

In latest news from Doon, the incident of some Youth Congress activists led by the YC national president Udai Bhanu and the State Congress chief Karan Mahara getting into fisticuffs with some journalists at the Police Line has received flaks.
Notably, the YC activists were transported to Police Line in buses from the Secretariat where they gathered to gherao by way of protesting against rampant substance abuse and spiralling unemployment. The journalists had been in the Police Line ground in connection with a cricket tournament Uttarakhand Press Club had organised.
Seeing the State minister Saurabh Bahuguna at the stage where the winning team was to be awarded, the Congress demonstrators turned more aggressive. When the journalists present requested them to exercise restraint the angry activists allegedly abused them and jostled with them. As tempers frayed, Bahuguna chose to leave the Police Line. Some senior journalists who had witnessed the scuffle condemned the YC activists for their alleged rowdyism.
