In latest news from Dehradun, the State metrological centre has issued yellow alert for four districts-Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Pithoragarh-forecasting snowfall in areas above 3,500 meters in altitude on Monday. According to the weather department forecast, as the mountainous regions are poised to receive snowfall the plains will record significant dip in the mercury which may prove to be the harbinger of real winter. Notably, in most parts of the State, the maximum temperatures are hovering above the normal while the minimum temperatures are staying within the normal limits. However, dry weather will prevail in the State on Saturday, said the director of the State metrological centre Vikram Singh. The weather may change on Monday as clouds are predicted to overcast sky at several places in the mountainous regions.
