Yogi Adityanath reaches Kedarnath, offers prayers, views reconstruction works
Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath reached Kedarnath on Sunday. The two chief ministers viewed various aspects of the Kedarnath reconstruction project. The duo is also slated to attend the ritual closing of Kedarnath shrine for the winters on Monday.
Rawat informed the UP CM in detail about the ongoing reconstruction works in Kedarnath. Stating that work is progressing at a rapid pace under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that helicopters were also used to ferry the latest equipment to Kedarnath. Informing that the reconstruction work is being monitored regularly from Dehradun, he said that soon Kedarnath in a new form will soon become a major centre of attraction for devotees from across India and abroad. Along with improvement of roads leading to Kedarnath, focus is also being laid on development of infrastructural facilities here. The PM too is regularly monitoring the works being undertaken here. Rawat further informed that in the construction works, effort is being made to preserve the Puranic and spiritual importance while also focusing on the local arts. The nearby spiritual locations are also being linked with this.
Yogi Adityanath expressed happiness at being able to visit Kedarnath after more than a decade.Stating that reconstruction work after the 2013 disaster was underway on a war footing as per the PM’s vision and Rawat’s leadership, he appreciated the works done by the State government in Kedarnath which have restored the confidence of the devotees. Paying his obeisance to lord Kedarnath, the UP CM said that the planned reconstruction of this site has definitely helped restore the confidence of devotees. He prayed for the happiness, safety and peace for all Indians while offering prayers in the shrine along with Rawat.
Adityanath further said that on November 16, he will go to pay his obeisance to lord Badrinath. There he will also unveil the foundation for a UP guest house along with his Uttarakhand counterpart.
Uttarakhand’s Urban Development minister Madan Kaushik, State minister for Higher Education, Dhan Singh Rawat, BJP’s UP state president Swatantra Dev Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
