Yogi hands over keys of Alaknanda guest house to Dhami
Inaugurates new guest house of UP in Haridwar, asserts that most of the asset distribution issues between UP & U’khand settled

The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and his Uttarakhand counterpart Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Bhagirathi tourist guest house of UP tourism department in Haridwar on Thursday. On the occasion the ownership of the Alaknanda guest house was formally handed over to Uttarakhand by UP. The new guest house of UP is spread in an area of 2964 square meters and has been constructed with a sum of Rs 43.27 crore. It has 100 rooms, a banquet hall and a parking capacity of 150 vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion the UP CM Yogi said that the process of settlement of the long pending issue of distribution of assets between UP and Uttarakhand started in 2017 and in November 2021 most of the issues were resolved by the two states. He said that the both UP and Uttarakhand governments would work together to fulfil the dream of a great India of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Terming Uttarakhand as Dev Bhoomi, Yogi said that the state can attract more than 100 crore Indians. He said that the state holds vast potential in the fields of eco and spiritual tourism. The UP CM said that Kedarnath shrine has been reconstructed as per the wishes of PM Modi and development works in Badrinath and Haridwar are going on at a fast pace. He said that Uttarakhand is his mother land and both UP and Uttarakhand have similar ethos and sentiments. Yogi said that the famous Char Dham Yatra has commenced and the state should set up a great example of hospitality which would give it worldwide recognition.
Uttarakhand CM Dhami thanked the UP CM for handing over the Alaknanda guest house to Uttarakhand and congratulated him for inauguration of Bhagirathi guest house in Haridwar. He said that Yogi has resolved all the pending issues between the two states in the meeting held in November 2021 and by doing so he has fulfilled his responsibility as an elder brother. He said that a new India is taking shape by physical and spiritual development and Yogi is working to put forward the spiritual awareness in the country. “UP is taking rapid strides on the path of development under the leadership of Yogi ji. Uttar Pradesh is becoming Uttam Pradesh now,’’ he said.
Dhami added that Uttarakhand is making progress in every sector under the leadership of PM Modi. There has been a rapid increase in rail, road and air connectivity in the state, he said. The Uttarakhand CM said the reconstruction work of Kedarnath was completed at a fast pace and the Badrinath shrine has now been given a grand shape.
The cabinet ministers of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj, Prem Chand Agarwal, Ganesh Joshi, Dhan Singh Rawat and Chandan Ram Das, former CM of Uttarakhand Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, state president of BJP Madan Kaushik, UP Ministers Jaivir Singh, Brijesh Singh, Kapil Dev Agarwal and others were present in the ceremony.
