Young man and transgender killed in road accident in Doon

Two people were killed in a road accident in Dehradun on Sunday. The officials informed that a car carrying two people including a young man and a transgender crashed into a tree near the LIC office in the Dharampur area around 6 AM. The police reached the spot after locals informed them about the accident. The police identified the young man as Gaurav Kumar (22), a resident of Badowala in Dehradun. The police were yet to identify the transgender till late on Sunday. The officials informed that the car was reportedly going from Rispana bridge to Clock Tower when it crashed in the Dharampur area. The police are yet to ascertain the cause of the accident. The bodies were sent to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay (Coronation) Hospital for post mortem, the officials added.
