A youth who was travelling to Nanakmatta from Haldwani was abducted from Lalkuan and held captive for seven hours by some criminals. Later the Kotowali police reached and rescued the youth. One of the criminals managed to escape while police succeeded in arresting four of them.
It is learnt that the youth Priyanshu Sati, resident of Haldwani, was going to Nanakmatta along with his sister Jishu Sati and two others- Aditya Joshi and Rishav Singh. At Lalkuan, some two-wheeler borne youths stopped them and snatched camera from Rishav. When Priyanshu was fleeing towards Haldwani the motor cycle-borne youths chased him and dragged him inside a jungle. With his feet and hands tied, he was held captive for almost seven hours before police came and rescued him. One of the adductors managed to escape while four others were arrested.
