Youth commission to be established soon, says CM
A youth commission will soon come into existence in the state. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said this while interacting with the youths of the state virtually on the occasion of 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand on Tuesday.
Regarding the youth commission, the chief minister said that budgetary provision has been made for it. He said that Vivekanand had made the whole world aware of Indian culture and philosophy. The culture of India is best as it has the strength to move forward taking all along. Vivekanand had laid special stress on the need for the youth to have physical, mental and intellectual strength. Referring to his special affection for Uttarakhand, Rawat said that Vivekanand had described his memories of Almora, Bagehswar and Agastyamuni. The CM also received varied suggestions during his interaction with the youths. Directing all district magistrates to compile the suggestions received, he said that these can be helpful to the government in taking policy decisions. Referring to the government’s special focus on self-employment, he said that the youths should remain limited to employment but also link others to livelihood. Rawat also shared his own experiences while interacting with the youths.
Education minister Arvind Pandey and State minister for Higher Education, Dhan Singh Rawat also expressed their views in the meeting.
