Youth Day celebrations to showcase State cultural diversity: Arya

The Sports and Youth Welfare minister, Rekha Arya said that the State’s cultural diversity will be showcased through various cultural programmes during the Youth Day celebrations. She made this statement while reviewing the preparations here on Wednesday for the upcoming Youth Day event, scheduled for January 12. Arya emphasised that this new initiative aims to engage more young people in the life philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.

She said that as part of the celebrations, youth will create and upload 60 to 90-second video reels highlighting the life and ideology of Swami Vivekananda to a link provided by the department. A committee will review the submissions and select the top three entries. The winners will receive cash prizes of Rs 11,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000. The competition is open to individuals aged 15 to 29 and the winners will be honoured during the Youth Day event on January 12, she said.

Arya said that additionally, during the Youth Day celebrations, three Yuva Mangal Dals and three Mahila Mangal Dals from the State will be awarded prizes of Rs 1,00,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively. The youth recipients of the National Youth Award will also be recognised at the event.
