In latest Uttarakhand news, a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team brought to safety three youths from Gajiwali village under Shyampur Kangri region of Haridwar district who got stranded on the river bank with strong current flowing while another youth went missing in the swollen river. It is learnt that the police station in-charge Shyampur informed SDRF and immediately on being informed, the SDRF team rushed with required rescue equipments. The SDRF personnel learnt that the incident happened when four youths from the village were crossing the river with the help of tyre tubes to see their buffaloes. While three of them landed on the other side of the river and got stranded there due to the strong currents the other youth failed to cross the river and went missing. The SDRF team crossed the river with rafts and brought to safety the three stranded youths. However, the fourth youth remained missing and the SDRF team is learnt to be continuing with its intense search operation along the river stretch from Gajiwali to Sajjanpur.
