In latest news from Dehradun, Patelnagar police arrested a youth charged with abducting and sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl from Bhuttowala army ground in Dehradun. The accused was identified as Rajat Bisht (29), resident of Chandramani Khalsa, Mohabbewala. Officers of Patelnagar police station said that the accused had been arrested under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. As per the complaint lodged by the survivor’s mother, the accused took the girl away on his scooty when she was playing around the Santala Devi temple and when she returned it was clear that she had been subjected to molestation. Later, medical examination had been done on her, police investigating the case said.
