In latest news from Uttarakhand, a youth was arrested by police for raping a mentally retarded minor girl. Police personnel investigating the case said that the survivor’s relatives had filed a complaint, alleging that their tenant Ganesh who hails from Bihar had raped the girl for quite a long time. He had allegedly threatened the girl of dire consequences if she informed anyone. Things came to fore after the girl was found five months pregnant. Police informed further that the accused, who is a married person, had been living on rent in the survivor’s house for the past one and half years.
