In latest Uttarakhand news, Udham Singh Nagar police cracked a murder case in which one youth allegedly hacked to death another youth over Rs 100 in Shaktifarm area of the district. The accused youth identified as Nandu Sarkar was arrested by police. With the case being registered, he was sent to jail. Besides, police also recovered the murder weapon.
While divulging details of the murder case, the SSP Manjunath T C said that the murder had been committed overpayment of Rs 100. The accused worked in the agricultural field of the deceased identified as Akhil Giri and when he asked Giri to pay him Rs 100 in lieu of the work done by him the latter refused to pay. An altercation ensued between the two. As per police, both were inebriated at that time. With the altercation going on, the accused, in a fit of rage, allegedly hit the head and neck of Bala with a sharp-edged weapon several times and Bala died on the spot. Thereafter, the deceased’s brother Brijwali Bala filed an FIR on the case at the Shaktifarm police station and subsequently police registered a case. The accused was arrested and sent to jail, SSP informed.
