Youth sentenced to life for raping four-year old

Additional district judge / fast track special court judge Kusum Shani has sentenced a youth to life imprisonment and Rs one lakh fine for raping a four year old girl. Prosecution advocate Bhupendra Kumar Chauhan informed that on the evening of November 13, 2019, the victim girl was playing with the children of the locality in Shyampur area in Haridwar district. She disappeared from there while playing. The children playing with the girl had told the family about her disappearance following which the complainant mother and her husband went to the changing room of Namami Gange Ghat in search of the child where the crying of a girl was heard. On reaching the changing room, the accused youth started to run away after seeing them. The accused youth ran away after pushing the father of the girl. On the same day, the complainant mother had filed a case against the accused Deepak, a resident of Kandi village. The next day after the incident, the police arrested the accused youth from the canal track in Kangri on a tip off from an informant. After the investigation of the case, the investigating officer had filed a charge sheet against the accused youth in the court. The government advocate presented eight witnesses on behalf of the government.
