People between 18 to 45 years of age to get vaccinated after the state receives its quota
The vaccination of the people between 18 to 45 years would not start from May 1 in Uttarakhand. The state government made it clear on Friday that the vaccination of 18 to 45 years age group people would start after the state receives its allotted quota from the central government. It is learnt that the vaccination of the above mentioned age group would start only in second week of May. There are an estimated 50 lakh people in the state who are in this age group. In a statement the Director General (DG) state health services, Dr Tripti Bahuguna said that the central government would supply 122108 doses of Covishield and 42370 doses of Covaxine for vaccination of 18-45 year age group people. The Covishield would be provided by the Pune based Serum Institute of India (SII) while the Covaxine would be sent by Bharat Biotech limited.
She said that the registration on Co-Win portal for vaccination of 18-45 year age people would continue and when the vaccination would start they would be intimated. Meanwhile the youngsters of the Himalayan state are continuing to show enthusiasm for the vaccination and a large number of them have already registered themselves for vaccination in the portal.
