Yuva Mahotsav promotes entrepreneurship among young adults

The Uttarakhand Rajya Yuva Mahotsav is providing a platform for fostering entrepreneurship among the youth, according to those who have set up stalls at the event. The Sports and Youth Welfare department has organised the Yuva Mahotsav at Parade Ground from November 9 to 14, aiming to encourage and develop young talent. About 200 stalls have been set up at the venue featuring science and technology exhibits, local Pahadi cuisine and other products in addition to various cultural programmes being held at the venue. The stall owners appreciated the governmental effort to provide them the opportunity to showcase their business and promote entrepreneurship among young individuals.

Naresh Nautiyal, who has set up a stall selling Pahadi pulses expressed his gratitude for the opportunity provided by the annual Yuva Mahotsav to conduct his business successfully. He noted that this annual event offers a platform for individuals to showcase their businesses and enhance their income. Nautiyal added that while many people cannot afford to rent stalls at various fairs, the Yuva Mahotsav offers a cost-free opportunity for entrepreneurs like himself. He underscored that the event attracts a greater number of young adults compared to other age groups, indicating their interest in entrepreneurship, new ideas, technological advancements and innovation.

Managing a stall set up through the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY) of the State government, Aditya said that scheme aims to provide entrepreneurship training to university students. He said that he has launched some entrepreneurship projects and began the initial phase of entrepreneurship by setting up a stall at the Yuva Mahotsav. He emphasised that participation is cost-free and offers valuable experience.

Various other stall owners shared similar sentiments and appreciated the authorities for providing a platform to conduct business and acquire knowledge.

A young adult, Saina Khan added that she has been attending the Mahotsav regularly, where this year’s theme is innovation in science and technology. The event features various stalls and programmes aimed at enhancing the knowledge of science and technology among the youth, which is helpful and a learning experience for the youth.
