Yuva Mahotsav to be start in Doon on November 10

The Uttarakhand State Yuva Mahotsav will be held at Parade Ground in Dehradun from November 10 to 14.Stating this, Sports and Youth Welfare minister Rekha Arya said that the event will be inaugurated on the evening of November 9 and formally start on next day.
This year’s Yuva Mahotsav will include a theme based on national sports in light of the upcoming 38th National Games being hosted in the State. The event will feature displays of traditional sports including Mallakhamb and Pitthu on the first day, aiming to draw attention to sports, particularly local games. She said that the theme for this year’s Yuva Mahotsav is “Innovation in Sports Science,” and an exhibition showcasing sports science will also be held during the festival. This initiative aims to provide the younger generation with comprehensive knowledge about the intersection of sports and science, she added.
Arya said that cultural performances and a food festival will also participate of the programme particularly with special arrangements made for Uttarakhandi cuisine. Various sporting activities will be organised for children’s entertainment. The festival will conclude on Children’s Day, November 14, and on this day, winners of both online and offline competitions aimed at promoting national sports will be rewarded and honoured, she said.
Additional director of the Youth Welfare and Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) department Rakesh Chandra Dimri informed that stalls at the event will be focused on the science field. About 160 stalls will be set up during the event.
He further added that the launch of the National Games volunteer portal by the CM will take place during the event enabling interested individuals to sign up as volunteers. About 4,000 volunteers will be selected through this portal.
