12 K madrasa students missing: Inquiry underway

 The number of students enrolled in the madrasas in the Laksar tehsil of the district decreased by about 12,000 following the investigation of madrasas by the Education department on the instructions of the district magistrate Mayur Dixit.  The investigation was meant to identify the illegally operating madrasas in the district.   However, the district basic education officer, Amit Kumar Chand said that at the beginning of the new academic year, there is a slight decline in student enrollment.  By the time the admission process is completed, student enrollment would return to normal, he added.  The DM said that inquiry is underway into the huge drop in the number of students.
