Acting on the instructions of regional transport officer (Administration) Sandeep Saini, a special drive was organised at the Regional Transport Office (Dehradun Division) on Wednesday. During this operation, 14 vehicles were challaned for violations and one vehicle was seized.
During the inspection, a stamp vendor named Shiv Singh Bisht was found operating without authorisation near the Transport Office. His license is issued for the Garhi Cantt area. Necessary legal action is being taken against him as per the rules. Two other cases related to stamp writing were discovered and those involved have been directed to submit all stamp-related records and registers, the officials said.
Officials informed that one vehicle was found illegally parked and seized in accordance with rules. Challans were issued for 14 other vehicles violating transportation rules.
The Transport department clarified that the internet cafes operating around the office should be limited to online fee payments only. They stated that campaigns against violations of traffic and transport rules near the RTO office will continue in the future to ensure that residents of nearby colonies do not face difficulties.
