14 villages selected  under PM Adarsh Gram Yojana in Doon

Fourteen villages from Dehradun district, selected for development under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY), will be developed now.  The chief development officer (CDO), Abhinav Shah, who had presided over a meeting on this matter, informed this on Thursday.  With more than 50 per cent Scheduled Caste population, these villages are located in the Chakrata, Kalsi and Vikasnagar blocks.

Under this scheme, each selected village will receive Rs 20 lakh for gap-filling works. The aim is to improve basic facilities and overall living conditions in these villages, Shah said.

These villages are Lavdi, Bhunar, Kuna, Kota Taplaad, Kandoi Bharam, Mask, Jogiyon and Burayla from Chakrata block; Surau, Kachhta, Rupau and Gharna from Kalsi block and Pasta and Dhalai from Vikasnagar block.  

During the meeting, officials discussed the proper implementation of different government schemes and better coordination among departments. They were asked to give priority to important works like drinking water, sanitation, waste management, construction and repair of toilets in schools and Anganwadi centres, building of Anganwadi centres, all-weather roads and installation of solar and street lights.

The officials also shared that under the district plan for 2026–27, about 15 solar lights will be installed in each selected village. The CDO directed all departments to regularly review the progress of the work and complete the targets on time. He also stressed the need to spread awareness so that more eligible people can benefit from the scheme.
