Proactively monitor implementation of CM’s announcements: Bardhan

Chief secretary Anand Bardhan has directed the officers to undertake proactive monitoring of the implementation of chief minister’s announcements. He directed the officers to submit physical and financial progress of the CM’s announcements within a period of three days. He chaired a review meeting on CM’s announcements at the secretariat on Monday.
Addressing the officials, the CS directed the secretaries, heads of departments and district magistrates concerned to submit separate details about CM announcements which have been completed, are underway and have not been started yet. On a stern note, the CS said that the officers should submit the details of such announcements which could not be started yet due to any kind of issue, giving the reasons for not starting the work within seven days. Bardhan asked the officers to prepare lists of CM’s announcements made on Republic Day, Independence Day and State Foundation Day and accord them highest priority. The CS also asked the departments and DMs concerned to submit proposals for those announcements that have no immediate implementation issues.
The CS asked secretary SN Pandey to create an effective monitoring mechanism to ensure speedy implementation of CM’s announcements and to push the lax departments.
The officers informed that 2,215 out of 3,575 announcements made by CM have been implemented while work on implementation on 777 is in progress and no work has been initiated on 583 announcements.
