The two-day ‘EWASH 2023: National Conference on Environment, Water, Agriculture, Sustainability and Health’ themed on ‘Protect the Blue and Green, Make the Earth Pristine’ commenced in Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) on Friday.
The organisers of the event said that it is being jointly organised by SRHU, Save the Environment, a society for research awareness and social development, Kolkata/Gurugram; DAV PG College Dehradun and National Academy of Sciences, Prayagraj Uttar Pradesh. A host of experts, academicians, students and policy visualisers attended it on the first day, claimed a statement released by SRHU. The chief scientist and head CSIR-NEERI Delhi Zonal Centre S K Goyal was present on the occasion as the guest of honour.
The first day of the conference was addressed by the scientist F and additional director, Solid State Physics Laboratory DRDO Delhi Sushil K Singh; patron, STE Kolkata Arunabha Majumder; principal DAV PG College Dehradun Prof Sunil Kumar and principal, School of Biosciences, SRHU, Dehradun Prof Sanjay Gupta.
The chancellor of SRHU, Vijay Dhasmana in his address said that EWASH keeps striving for the cause of sustainable living by healing the environment and humanity at the same time. The vice- chancellor SRHU Rajendra Dobhal said that the importance of sustained efforts involving all the stake-holders in conservation of green cover and mitigation of issues faced by the globe can hardly be overemphasised.
