20 GBPUAT students selected for international internship in France

Twenty students of G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, have been selected for an international internship programme in France to gain exposure to modern agricultural technologies. The programme is being conducted under a collaborative memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty and Pantnagar University.

As part of the agreement, the selected students will undergo a one-month internship at various institutions in France under the DEFIA Consortium from March 8 to April 3. The training aims to provide hands-on professional experience in emerging areas of food science, food technology and advanced agricultural practices.

The director (international affairs) H J Shiva Prasad, along with members of the DEFIA Committee, said the programme would significantly enhance students’ practical skills and professional competence in food science and allied disciplines.

The selected students represent multiple disciplines, including Agriculture, Technology, Agribusiness Management, Community Science, Biotechnology, Fisheries Science and Veterinary Sciences.

Congratulating the students, the vice-chancellor, Manmohan Singh Chauhan said that such international collaborations strengthen academic and practical learning while also promoting cultural exchange between India and France, contributing to the overall development of students.
