A junior engineer (JE) working for the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has filed a complaint with Raipur police, alleging that he was threatened and assaulted while carrying out road clearance work in the Maldevta area on Tuesday morning.
As per the complaint, while the JE and his team were clearing the Maldevta-Selki-Silla-Bhainswadi road of the rain-triggered debris with a JCB machine, some locals, along with the Gram Pradhan of Selki Vodha and four others, came and tried to stop the government work. The complainant alleged that the group had created a ruckus, threatened to kill him and tried to push him over into a gorge. He also wrote in the complaint that two workers had been injured in the incident. While Nitin Chauhan reportedly suffered a fractured finger, Amit Jadia was also injured.
The incident was also reported to the district disaster management centre and the SDM, Dehradun. The Raipur police said they have registered a case and started an investigation into the allegations.
