Dehradun district had 25 new cases of swine flu (H1N1) and five new cases of dengue on Thursday, bringing the cumulative number of swine flu cases to 408 and dengue cases to 150. Dehradun chief medical officer Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that out of the 408 swine flu cases, 269 are from Dehradun district, while 139 cases are from other States and districts.
Of the 25 new swine flu cases reported on Thursday, 11 are from Dehradun and 14 are from other States and districts. Following a death audit, two fatalities associated with swine flu have been confirmed so far.
Sharma said that there are currently 82 active swine flu cases. Among these, 38 patients are at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, 29 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, eight at Graphic Era Hospital, three each at Himalayan Hospital and Kailash Hospital along with one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital. He added that of the total 408 swine flu cases, 224 patients are male and 184 are female.
The CMO informed that five new cases of dengue were reported on Thursday, bringing the total to 150. Of these, 75 cases are from Dehradun and 75 from other States and districts. Among the five new cases reported on Thursday, three are from other States and districts and two are from Dehradun. Currently, there are 22 active dengue cases, which include 12 at Himalayan Hospital, five at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital, one at AIIMS Rishikesh, one at Graphic Era Hospital and one at Combined Medical Institute. No deaths from dengue have been reported so far in Dehradun district, according to the CMO.
