With the second phase of the State’s Panchayat elections slated on July 28, six polling teams left for their respective booths in the Bhatwari block for the remote Gram Sabhas like Bhankoli, Dasda and Agoda.
On reaching Bhatwari block, the chief development officer and assistant district election officer, S L Semwal gave important suggestions and guidelines to the polling personnel to ensure smooth and peaceful completion of the voting process. He inspected the strong room, control room, barricading and other election related preparations.
As the three-tier Panchayat election in the State is based on the theme of ‘Green Panchayat – Green Theme’, saplings were distributed for plantation at polling stations.
