3-day conclave & national seminar hosted by UCB & GBPUAT concludes

The three-day third biotechnology conclave and national conference on animal nutrition, welfare, production and innovations hosted jointly by Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology (UCB) Haldi and GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) concluded. The organisers of the event said that some researchers were felicitated with Young Scientist Awards at the programme.
The director of ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, Lakshmi Kant in his address as the chief guest stressed on linking agricultural produce with quality enhancement and market networking. Lauding the research activities being carried out by UCB, he said that the institute has played a significant role through its research in reducing the magnitude of the forest fire and enriching biodiversity and added that the farmers must be enabled to reap the benefits of biotechnology research.
Addressing the gathering, the vice -chancellor of the Pantnagar University Kiran Raverkar laid emphasis on educational institutions working in collaboration and said that biotechnology is fast catching the imagination of students. The UCB director Sanjay Kumar said in his address that several sections of the society in the State like youth, researchers, entrepreneurs and members of self-help groups have been benefited by the conclave.
