35 outsiders marked for probe, 5 booked under Police Act

To curb criminal activities and monitor suspicious persons, Badkot police station, under the direction of the superintendent of police Uttarkashi Kamlesh Upadhyay, conducted a comprehensive verification campaign in the Badkot area on Tuesday.

During the campaign, 35 individuals from other states now residing in the district, including tenants, labourers, street vendors and hawkers, were marked for investigation. Meanwhile, action was taken under the Police Act against five individuals who had been living without verification for a long time.

The police appealed to the residents of the area to get 100 per cent police verification done of their tenants, labourers and domestic helpers so that any suspicious person could be identified.

The police station in-charge, Badkot said that such verification campaigns would be conducted regularly in future too.
