In latest news from Uttarakhand, to successfully conduct the urban local body polls in Tehri district, the third randomisation of the polling personnel was done through the random technique in the presence of the district magistrate Mayur Dixit here on Tuesday.
Addressing it, the DM said that the administration would ensure that no campaigning is held after 5 PM, adding that all ROs/AROs and the zonal/sector magistrates had been instructed to conduct intensive checking in their respective areas and ensure compliance with Section 126 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. He further said that no election- related interview and debate by any candidate, political party or any other person was to be screened in the electronic media after 5 PM.
