47 advocates contest 12 posts in Bar Association poll

The Bar Association of Dehradun elections were held on Thursday. A total of 47 advocates are in the fray for 12 posts.  A total of 3,578 advocates cast their votes in the elections. Voting began at 9 AM and continued till 5 PM.

Four candidates contested for the post of president — Anil Kukreti, Harish Chandra Domal, Manmohan Kandwal and Rajeev Sharma. For the post of secretary, the candidates were Ajay Bisht, Prabhat Budhwal, Prakash T Pal and Ravindra Kumar Chauhan.

Five candidates — Amit Dangwal, Rahul Amoli, Rakesh Pal, Vinod Kumar Sagar and Virendra Singh Khurana — contested for the post of vice president, while Alpana Jaidli and Lata Rana were in the fray for the vice- president (women) seat.

For the post of treasurer, Lalit Bhandari and Rajeev Kumar (Rohilla) contested. Six candidates — Anil Singh Bisht, Anupama Thakur, Kapil Aroda, Pankaj Bhandari, Rakesh Thapliyal and Sudip Kumar Kandwal — were in the race for joint secretary.
