5,386 students awarded degrees in 1st convocation of SGRR University

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the students must adopt such qualities that lead to making a better society and nation. He said that the students must accept every challenge and turn it into an opportunity.

 The CM said this while addressing the first convocation ceremony of the Sri Guru Ram Rai (SGRR) university on Tuesday. Terming the students as the best brand ambassadors of institutes, he said that today India has emerged as the second biggest start up hub of the world. The CM congratulated the students and the SGRR University for the Successful organising of the convocation ceremony.

 The Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that research and development can bring constructive changes in the society. He emphasised that the syllabi of the universities must be based on current market demands.  The former chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), DP Singh, exhorted the students to keep delivering their best with true loyalty, honesty and skills. National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 has included all the qualities of education and it will be the key to success for our education system, he said.

 The   vice chancellor of the university, US Rawat said that the students must always follow the path of truth and honesty and discharge duty towards parents and teachers. He also presented an account of the university and its achievements. In the ceremony 5,386 students were awarded degrees out of which 218 meritorious students were awarded with Gold Medals. In the ceremony 34 researchers were awarded with PhD degrees and four students were awarded with Chancellor Trophies.
