Doon police arrested seven men on the charge of creating nuisance in a public place under the Kotwali Nagar area on Tuesday. The incident took place in a lane near a Gurdwara on Kanwali Road where two groups scuffled due to an old rivalry.
According to police, things started with arguments which then turned violent. They began throwing stones at one another triggering panic in the area and endangering the passers-by. On receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and tried to control the situation. However, both sides continued fighting for some more time, unheeding the police.
Seeing things getting worse, police swung into action and arrested seven men from both groups.
