PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun

A civil engineer from Rishikesh has approached the court alleging that his educational degree and signatures were used without his permission to submit government tenders. The applicant, Vishal Gaud, has accused the proprietor of a Dehradun-based construction firm, Himanshu Sajwan, of forgery, cheating and conspiracy.

According to the complaint filed before the additional chief judicial magistrate, Rishikesh, Gaud completed his civil engineering degree from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, in 2012. He alleged that Sajwan used his degree and forged signatures while submitting three tenders before the PWD office in Rishikesh.

The tenders were related to road construction works in areas including Bhallafarm, Shyampur, Chhidarwala, Chakjogiwala and Gumaniwala. Gaud claimed that he was shown as the project manager of Shiva Construction in the tender documents. He said he had never worked for the firm and had not given permission to use his degree or signatures.

Gaud also alleged that a false affidavit was submitted to the PWD department in his name. He said he became aware of the alleged misuse after receiving documents related to the tenders.

He alleged that he approached the Rishikesh police but no FIR was registered and no investigation was carried out.

After he approached the court the Rishikesh police registered an FIR in this matter and started an investigation.
