95 college & university teachers selected for training at IISc, Bengaluru

The Higher Education department of Uttarakhand has selected 95 teachers of the State universities and Colleges for advanced scientific training at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru. The training will commence on December 28 and end on January 12, 2026. The Higher Education department has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the IISc to promote research activities in the universities and colleges of the State. The department officials informed that out of 95 science teachers, 25 are Physics faculty, 23 Chemistry, 17 Mathematics and 15 of Zoology and Botany each. In the programme, the experts will train teachers with new concepts and modern experiments in science.
Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that after attending the training at a premier institute such as IISc, the teachers will be able to connect students with scientific outlook, innovation and modern technology and research.
The secretary Higher Education Ranjit Kumar Sinha said that the objective of the training performance is to encourage research and training activities in the State. He expressed confidence that the initiative will get reflected in the quality of education, innovation and research results.
