Transport and Social Welfare minister Chandan Ram Dass visited the Darbar Sahib on Saturday. After paying his obeisance at Darbar Sahib, the minister had a formal meeting with Mahant Devendra Das.
On his arrival the minister was welcomed as per the tradition of Darbar Sahib. During the meeting, Mahant Devendra Das informed the minister about the various social welfare activities being undertaken by Shri Guru Ram Rai (SGRR) university, SGRR Institute of Medical and Health Sciences, Mahant Indiresh hospital and Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission.
The minister appreciated the efficient functioning of the SGRR institutions. He emphasised the importance of Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital as a strong partner of the State government in ensuring effective healthcare of the people of Uttarakhand. At Darbar Sahib, impressed by the magnificence and sacred heritage, the minister sought information about the historical and significance of wall paintings and art forms.
