The governor of Uttarakhand lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh has convened the budget session of the Uttarakhand Assembly at Bharadisain building, Gairsain in Chamoli district from March 13. The secretary in-charge of Uttarakhand Assembly Hem Pant issued the notification of the session on Friday.
The session would commence on March 13 with the address of the governor. On March 14 vote of thanks on governor’s address and discussions would be held while the Finance minister Prem Chand Agarwal would table the budget of the State for 2023-24 on March 15. Discussions on budgetary provisions would be held on March 16.
The budget session is expected to end on March 18. With the notification, the State government has started making preparations for the budget session which is being held in the backdrop of the Joshimath land subsidence crisis and student agitation. The state government has invited suggestions from the general public for the budget and has promised to include them in the budget document.
