Create institute on lines of FTII Pune, says CM

Chief minister has directed officials to work for the establishment of a high level institute for film, television and content creation training on the lines of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune.
Informing about this the Uttarakhand Film Development Council chief executive officer Banshidhar Tiwari said that the authorities are considering opening an institute for film and television training at the Uday Shankar drama institute campus in Almora. Regarding the financing and other aspects related to operation of the institute, Dhami has directed that an expert committee should be formed for this purpose. The necessary process is being undertaken for the formation of this committee, said Tiwari.
It should be mentioned here that the State government is working to develop film production as an organised industry in the State. The need for a State-level training institute is being felt to increase the number of trained human resource related to film production and to encourage youth in this field, officials said.
