The formation of the State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (SETU) is a historic decision taken for coordination and planning of development works, said the Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt. He also thanked the chief minister Pushkar Singhd Dhami on behalf of the public for ordering the formation of a special investigation team to probe into the gaps found in the functioning of the registrar’s office.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the BJP State president said that Uttarakhand has become the first State to form SETU on the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a more practical alternative to the planning commission. He expressed hope that SETU will establish coordination needed for effective execution of various development schemes. This will prove to be practically more beneficial in execution of schemes on the ground in the future, he said. On the subject of documents found to be missing from the office of the registrar in Dehradun, Bhatt welcomed the formation of the special investigation team to probe into the matter as ordered by Dhami. He said that this new assault made by the Dhami government on corruption proves that the BJP government is committed to work on the policy of zero tolerance to corruption. He expressed hope that after the investigation the guilty will soon be put behind bars. He appreciated Dhami for personally making an unannounced inspection of the office and ordering the formation of a special investigation team to probe the matter.
