Construction of modern dairy plant to start soon in Lalkuan: Bhatt

The construction of a modern dairy plant with one lakh litre daily capacity will start soon at Lalkuan in Nainital district. The Union minister of State Ajay Bhatt said this while speaking as the chief guest at the 74th annual general meeting of the Nainital Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh Limited (NDUSSL) held on the weekend at Bhimtal. A budget of Rs 246.94 crore was also passed in the AGM. Bhatt said that the construction of the modern dairy plant will cost about Rs 120 crore. He further said that three veterinary ambulances have been launched in three development blocks for treatment of milch cattle in the first stage and that the operation of such ambulances will be started soon in other blocks also.
The NDUSSL chairman Mukesh Bora said that efforts are being undertaken to further strengthen the dairy business in the mountainous region. Taking the initiative of the Dairy Development minister Saurabh Bahuguna forward, Aanchal increased the milk rates by Rs eight in one year considering the production cost and on the minister’s directions, the rates given to dairy producers will be increased by Re one from August 25. He further said that on the occasion of Deepawali, the NDUSSL will also prepare a new range of sweets and present a new taste to the people of the State. Preparations have been started for this, he said.
