Met dept issues yellow rain alert for 5 districts

In latest news from Dehradun, with the weather remaining dry for nearly a week and the mercury rising, the regional metereological department has forecast rain in five districts of Uttarakhand for three days starting from September 2. It has also released yellow rain alert for these five districts. According to the director, regional metereological department Vikram Singh, these five districts are Pithoragarh, Nainital, Bageshwar, Almora and Champawat. He further said that thundershower might lash isolated places in these five districts for three days. The rain might trigger light landslides in some areas and the rivers/nullahs might swell. He asked those living in proximity to river/nullahs to be on their guard.
