Tremors were felt across the State on Tuesday afternoon, causing temporary panic among some people. According to official sources, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Nepal and it measured 5.5 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt at about 2:50 in Dehradun and most mountainous locations in Garhwal and Kumaon regions of the State. The brief tremors experienced made people in many locations come out of their homes. The people reacted to the tremors by exiting buildings and gathering in open spaces while waiting for news about what had happened. According to official sources, no major damage was reported from anywhere in the State due to the earthquake.
