The vice chairperson of Uttarakhand Culture, Literature and Art Council Madhu Bhatt said that the Aipan paintings should be promoted as an example of the State’s folk art and culture. She said this while visiting the Aipan painting exhibition underway till October 23 at Uttara Contemporary Art Museum.
She said that folk artists of the State are consistently trying to make Aipan accessible to the common people and pass it on to future generations. The Culture department is taking a meaningful initiative in the direction of highlighting the modern and contemporary art activities of Uttarakhand, she added.
Bhatt also appealed to the general public to visit the Aipan exhibition from 10 AM to 6 PM to enhance their knowledge about the culture of Uttarakhand.
