Light snowfall & rain reported in State, clear weather forecast on Deepawali

Badrinath witnessed light snowfall on Saturday while there was light rain in Dehradun during the wee hours. Very light to light rain was also reported in various parts of the State on Saturday. There has been a marked drop in the daytime temperatures in various parts of the State. However, the weather is likely to remain clear on the occasion of Deepawali on Sunday. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State today. The provisional State capital Dehradun will witness a mainly clear sky with mist likely to occur during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 26.6 degrees Celsius and 13.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28 degrees Celsius and 14.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13.6 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.8 degrees Celsius and 8.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Further, six millimetres rain was reported in Badrinath, 1.5 millimetres each in Mukteshwar and Gangolihat, one millimetre each in Devidhura and Naitwar and 0.5 millimetre in Sonprayag.
