The Congress leader Abhinav Thapar claimed that the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has lost about Rs 300 crore due to severe irregularities in the tender system of hoardings. He said that the Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ and the authorities concerned should bring up this issue in the last board meeting of the year which is scheduled to be held on Thursday. Thapar alleged that he has written about the issue to the mayor and the municipal commissioner multiple times but no concrete steps were taken by them in this matter. ‘Gama’ had even stated that it is not in his hands to give tender to companies but he will act against the guilty if he finds any irregularity but nothing has been done so far. Thapar said that the mayor and the commissioner have powers and who is stopping them from investigating this matter. He stated that if the authorities concerned will not bring this issue to the board meeting on Thursday to take action against the culprits, he will approach the high court to get justice.
