Temples in Doon to be decked up for consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya

The devotional fervour is at its peak not only in Ayodhya but also in Dehradun. Temples in the provisional State capital are also gearing up to mark the occasion of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to everyone in the nation to celebrate the occasion with light, diyas and flowers. Following this, the temples in the city are being decorated to celebrate the occasion.

Commenting on the celebration, a priest at a city temple, Devandra Dimri stated that January 22 is a significant day for the country and to mark the occasion, the temple has been decorated and will be holding various programmes. The temple committee has planned to celebrate the occasion for a week with activities including Bhajan Kirtan performances on the day itself, he added.

Another temple priest Mohan Sharma said, “The preparations in the temple have been completed for the upcoming celebration with fervour. The temple will host celebration of Diwali on January 22 and all the necessary rituals will be performed. Bhajan Kirtan and various other programmes will be included as part of the celebration.”

He added that the idol of lord Ram in the temple will be decked up in new clothes. In addition, the temple will be decorated with fresh flowers, lights and diyas, he added.

 “An idol of Ram will be installed in the temple on the same day as the consecration of the Ram idol in Ayodhya. Various programmes are set to unfold from January 15 and will conclude on January 22. In addition, Prasad will be distributed among the people on the same day as part of the celebration,” said the priest of the temple at Dharampur, Ragunath Negi.
