In latest news from Doon, an alumna of Shri Guru Ram Rai University Srishti Bhardwaj was felicitated by the university in recognition of her having won the top position in the category of solo folk dance at National Youth Festival (NYF) recently held at Nasik in Maharastra inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The NYF is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada. The chancellor of the university Mahant Devendra Dass presented a cheque to the ex-student at a programme held at Shri Darbar Sahib in the university campus. Visibly overwhelmed by her felicitation by her alma mater, Srishti recounted the message and emotions behind her presentation on the Kumaoni song ‘Ghasiyari’ at the National Youth Festival which fetched her the first prize in the solo folk dance competition category.
