Modi to inaugurate health infra projects today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate nine health services for Uttarakhand on Sunday. The health secretary R Rajesh Kumar said that the PM will inaugurate a community health centre (CHC) in Haridwar and block public health units in five districts of the State. He said the PM will lay the foundation stones for a critical care block in district hospital Rudrapur and a transit hostel in the sub district hospital of Srinagar.
He said that programmes will be organised in all the districts on Sunday, February 25 and a state level programme will be organised in Dehradun which will be presided over by the health minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
Kumar said that the PM will inaugurate the health projects worth Rs 11,391.79 crore for 25 states from Rajkot in Gujarat. The Block Public Health Units (BPHU) will be inaugurated in Purola of Uttarkashi, Bhowali of Nainital, Jakholi of Rudraprayag, Kapkot of Bageshwar and Barakot of Champawat.
The health secretary further informed that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has provided two mobile testing labs with a cost of Rs 87.40 lakh. These labs will help in ensuring availability of safe, nutritious and quality food to the general public. These labs will test the food items at the spots and the results will be displayed on the screen. They will also be equipped with a public address system. The department will make use of these mobile labs to create awareness in the public and on the Char Dham Yatra routes, tourist spots and Kanwad route.
