The former Governor of Uttarakhand and veteran Congress leader Aziz Qureshi died at the age of 83 after prolonged illness at a private hospital in Bhopal. He served as the Governor of Uttarakhand from 2012 to 2015. The national tricolour would be flown half-mast across the State in honour of the departed leader, the administration stated. Condoling his death, the State Congress president Karan Mahara said that the State would hold him in respectful remembrance for his active role during the 2013 Kedarnath deluge.
