The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has condemned the incident in which the BJP MLA from Salt Mahesh Jeena misbehaved with the Dehradun municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar at Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD).
He said that both the public representatives and the bureaucrats are accountable towards the people and they should show responsible and dignified behaviour. Mahara said that the manner in which the BJP MLA misbehaved with the officer is unfortunate and is not a good sign for healthy democracy.
The PCC president however added that the officers should also understand their responsibility towards the public. Taking a dig at the BJP, Mahara said that the representatives of the BJP are exposing the real face of the party which claims to be different and give respect to everyone. He demanded that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami should get the incident investigated in an impartial manner.
