Wrong economic policies hurting the poor: Mayawati

The Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has said that the interests of minorities and downtrodden sections of the society are being hit under the BJP rule in the country. She was addressing a public meeting in support of BSP candidate from Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency, Maulana Jamil Ahmed at Roorkee on Saturday. Mayawati said that the wrong economic policies of the government are hurting the poor. Recalling the decisions taken by the UP government when Uttarakhand was part of UP and she was chief minister of the State, the BSP leader said that many historic decisions were taken for the welfare of the people. She said that many new districts, Tehsils and blocks were created during her tenure as CM. Mayawati said that the reservation in promotions in Uttarakhand is not being given. She demanded that reservation in the private sector should also be given. The BSP leader said that Sachar committee’s report on minorities should be implemented. She appealed to the people that they should not get swayed by the propaganda unleashed by the ruling party in the media and support the BSP candidate.
